Kang Chun-hyuk

I was born as the only child of a cheerful father who liked alcohol and a mother who devoted all her life to her family. I spent my childhood at my grandmother's house. One morning when I was about 12, my dad suddenly woke me up and told me to cross the river and go to China with him. Without knowing why, I was led by my father and crossed a frozen river to China.

The reason why we defected to China is as follows: My father, who worked in a coal mine, left for China to earn money considering the difficult family circumstances, and returned home after a year, the authorities found out about it and sent him to the prison. My mother bribed and managed to get my father out of the cell for a while, but my parents realized that there was no hope for life in North Korea and planned to escape.
